Ancient stone farmhouse situated on the side of a hill in a panoramic position near Gaiole in Chianti. The house is reached by a dirt track that connects a few farmhouses in the area and is ideal for taking walks. All shops, restaurants and facilities are 1 km away and can be reached on foot. Radda in Chianti is at 12 kms, Montevarchi with a hypermarket is at 18 kms, access to the A1 Autostrada is 20 kms away in Valdarno, Siena is at 27 kms and Firenze is about 60 kms away. The farmhouse is on a small farming estate.  Main access to the house is up an external flight of stone steps that culminate in a small covered landing.From the landing, entrance is into a hall with door on the left to a small bathroom with washbasin, WC and basic shower. There is a telephone for guest use in the hallway.  A door in this hall opens into the spacious kitchen with open hearth fireplace and dining area. The kitchen is complete with mixed range, electric oven, fridge with freezer and washing machine.Next to the fireplace is the door to a spacious double bedroom. A door in the kitchen opens into the dining room. On one end of the dining room is a hall with door to the twin bedded room.  There are three wooden steps in the hall that lead to a landing with doors to a double bedroom and to a spacious complete bathroom with shower stall. Another door in the kitchen leads down a few steps to the living room with satellite TV and views over the countryside and the pool. To the right of the living room is a hall with doors to a double bedroom and to a complete bathroom with shower stall. Down a few steps in the living room is a door opening out onto a covered terrace with garden furniture that is ideal for eating outside while enjoying the panorama.It has a barbecue. At the side of this terrace is a path and gate which lead to the beautiful swimmingpool. The private pool and the garden surrounding it are very well kept and completely fenced-in. Situated at the rear of the farmhouse, the pool offers privacy and wonderful views over the underlying countryside. It is bean shaped, measures 6 x 12 meters and is finished in mosaic tiles. The pool is surrounded by stone paving and offers garden furniture and cold water shower. The house is simply furnished, with some rooms offering wood beamed ceilings. There is a baby cot available and firewood is payable on consumption. On request one extra light single bed can be provided. There are utilities rooms and a cellar at ground floor of the farmhouse to which the owner and gardener have access. Wine Chianti Classico can be purchased at the property.  |
